Wills and estate planning
Protect your family and your legacy with an estate plan
No one likes to think about, or plan for, their eventual death. But creating a comprehensive estate plan is the only way to protect your family and your legacy when you are gone.
You know you need an estate plan. We make it easy to get one.
Our tailored estate plans make sure that if you die or lose capacity, your family will be left with a clear considered plan for what should happen and the tools they need to implement your wishes.
We’ll help you ensure that—
Your children are living with someone suitable
The right person is in charge of your children’s inheritance (and your children are protected if your spouse repartners)
Your beneficiaries have options available to them to minimise tax and stop their inheritance getting caught up in a family law battle
Your trusts and companies and businesses pass as intended
There’s minimal chance that someone can challenge your Will
Your executor and trustee all the information they need to manage your estate according to your wishes.
How it works
get started
You can start with a free 10-minute chat with one of our lawyers to make sure our team is the right fit for you.
Or you can jump straight to generating a quote for an estate plan. We have different pricing options, depending on what your family needs and how much help you want in the process. Completing this form will recommend the best estate planning package for your family and provide an instant quote.
provide your information + FUNDS
One of our lovely estate planning lawyers will reach out and introduce themselves, give you instructions about how to transfer funds for your fee into trust, and invite you to complete our intake process.
This gives us most of the information we need to prepare the first draft of your documents and allows us to spend your conference talking about the big issues, rather than spelling out names.
That said, if you aren’t a form person, and would prefer to give all these details to a human rather than a form, we’re happy to work with you in whatever way suits you best.
BOOK a meeting with our team
Once we have your instructions and funds, we will give you the link to book in a meeting with one of our lawyers.
If you have chosen a discretionary testamentary trust Will, ahead of the conference we will send you a video walking you through how that trust works. It will teach you how a trust works generally and how we have designed yours to achieve your needs.
During the conference, we’ll talk through your documents, answer any questions you may have, resolve any issues and make note of any agreed changes. We might be able to resolve all issues in the conference or there might be some things you want to go away and think about before giving your final instructions.
finalising the documents
Within two weeks of receiving your final instructions, we will send you your documents plus all our extras (Digital Assets Register, handbook for your decision-makers and guardian, guidance for your attorneys etc).
SIGNING + STORAGE
If you chose to organise signing and storage yourself, we will send you instructions how to do this with your final documents. You can send us scanned copies to keep on your electronic file and so we can check you have followed the instructions correctly.
If you chose to come into our Thornbury office to sign, we will send you a link to book a signing conference. Once signed, we will send the statements of acceptance to your attorneys/decision-makers to sign, and store all your documents in our deeds safe. You should let your executor know that’s where to find them!
AMENDING YOUR WILL
If you want to amend your Nest Legal Will in the future, you can submit instructions here.
